{"id":9810,"date":"2025-08-05T18:54:59","date_gmt":"2025-08-05T17:54:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ciclozone.com\/blog\/cykling-for-sinnet-darren-lee\/"},"modified":"2026-03-30T23:08:56","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T22:08:56","slug":"cykling-for-sinnet-darren-lee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ciclozone.com\/sv\/blog\/cykling-for-sinnet-darren-lee\/","title":{"rendered":"Cykling f\u00f6r sinnet \u2013 Darren Lee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I flera \u00e5r som ung man, och fram till relativt nyligen, trodde jag att min k\u00e4rlek till cykling var helt baserad p\u00e5 den fysiska prestationsaspekten av vad sporten gav mig. \u00c4ven efter att mina t\u00e4vlingsdagar tog slut och jag b\u00f6rjade mitt liv som tr\u00e4nare och utbildare, b\u00f6rjade jag uppskatta vetenskapen bakom de fysiska f\u00f6rdelarna med att cykla.<\/p>\n<p>Det var \u00e4nd\u00e5 allt baserat p\u00e5 det fysiska. Speciellt n\u00e4r jag \u00e5ldrades verkade jag inte lida som n\u00e5gra av mina v\u00e4nner som inte cyklade. N\u00e5gra av mina b\u00e4sta v\u00e4nner var fotbollsspelare och rugbyspelare, och jag s\u00e5g dem genom fyrtio\u00e5rs\u00e5ldern b\u00f6rja lida av rygg- och kn\u00e4problem. N\u00e4r vi alla n\u00e5dde femtio\u00e5rs\u00e5ldern kunde n\u00e5gra av dem inte ens tr\u00e4na alls.<\/p>\n<p>Det \u00e4r f\u00f6rst nu, n\u00e4r jag ser m\u00e5nga av mina kamrater bli \u00e4ldre, som jag verkligen inser de fysiska f\u00f6rdelarna med att cykla. Men det fanns mer p\u00e5 spel h\u00e4r&#8230; en dold f\u00f6rdel som jag inte riktigt hade uppm\u00e4rksammat. En dold pluspo\u00e4ng som jag f\u00f6rst nu uppskattar fullt ut.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e4r vi \u00e5ldras st\u00e5r vi inf\u00f6r m\u00e5nga oundvikliga fakta i livet. Vi \u00e4r inte 21 l\u00e4ngre och vi blir definitivt inte yngre. V\u00e4rlden verkar vara centrerad kring en mycket yngre publik. Musiken vi lyssnade p\u00e5, filmstj\u00e4rnorna vi tittade p\u00e5&#8230; allt verkar s\u00e5 mycket \u00e4ldre \u00e4n det borde. F\u00f6r jag \u00e4r v\u00e4l inte s\u00e5 gammal? Verkligen?<\/p>\n<p>Antingen omfamnar du \u00e5ldrandet graci\u00f6st och med v\u00e4rdighet, om dina omst\u00e4ndigheter till\u00e5ter, men med fler av oss som m\u00e5ste stanna kvar i arbetsstyrkan l\u00e4ngre, och v\u00e5ra dr\u00f6mmar om f\u00f6rtidspensionering f\u00f6rsvinner med varje politiskt beslut som fattas, \u00e4r det uppenbart att inte bara v\u00e5ra kroppar utan v\u00e5rt sinne \u00e4r under \u00f6kade p\u00e5frestningar.<\/p>\n<p>Den moderna digitala arbetsplatsen \u00e4r l\u00e5ngt ifr\u00e5n den fax och mobilfria tillvaro d\u00e4r mitt arbetsliv b\u00f6rjade. Jag menar, n\u00e4r du var p\u00e5 semester p\u00e5 80-talet var du verkligen p\u00e5 semester, helt enkelt f\u00f6r att ingen kunde f\u00e5 tag i dig. Kopplingen var lycka.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00e5 att bli \u00e4ldre inneb\u00e4r inte bara att hantera de naturliga \u00e5ldrande effekterna av m\u00e4nniskokroppen, det inneb\u00e4r ocks\u00e5 att l\u00e4ra sig att mentalt hantera en allt mer komplex och fartfylld v\u00e4rld. Bara det kan vara sv\u00e5rt.<\/p>\n<p>2021 lanserade jag CicloZone, mitt nya f\u00f6retag. F\u00f6r f\u00f6rsta g\u00e5ngen i mitt liv lade jag mer vikt vid min hj\u00e4rna och mentala f\u00f6rm\u00e5ga \u00e4n p\u00e5 mina ben och fysiska kondition. F\u00f6r att g\u00f6ra saker \u00e4nnu sv\u00e5rare var det h\u00e4r en teknisk verksamhet. Och inl\u00e4rningskurvan var brant&#8230; ibland otroligt stressande.<\/p>\n<p>L\u00e5nga dagar, l\u00e5nga veckor, ta itu med allt som kr\u00e4vs f\u00f6r att driva en start-up. Och f\u00f6r att vara \u00e4rlig s\u00e5 var jag inte beredd p\u00e5 det. Den psykiska stressen var fenomenal. St\u00e4ndigt l\u00e4rande, st\u00e4ndigt jonglerar olika delar av verksamheten. Och eftersom det var en start-up s\u00e5 l\u00e4mnade jag aldrig stressen \u00f6ver huruvida det jag skapade faktiskt skulle lyckas.<\/p>\n<p>Under de senaste 12 m\u00e5naderna har jag faktiskt l\u00e4rt mig mer om mig sj\u00e4lv \u00e4n jag tror att jag hade under de senaste 53 \u00e5ren.<\/p>\n<p>Under den tiden hade jag sv\u00e5rare och sv\u00e5rare att f\u00e5 tid att cykla. Min landsv\u00e4gscykel, som h\u00e4nger p\u00e5 v\u00e4ggen p\u00e5 mitt kontor, blev mer en prydnad \u00e4n ett yrkesredskap. \u00c4rligt talat, 99,9% av min cykling under de senaste 3 \u00e5ren har varit p\u00e5 inomhuscyklar, mestadels testat ny funktionalitet, och bara n\u00e5gra g\u00e5nger i veckan. S\u00e4llan f\u00f6r en hel session bara f\u00f6r mig.<\/p>\n<p>Men jag har l\u00e4rt mig n\u00e5got mycket viktigt: den effekt som cykling har p\u00e5 mitt mentala tillst\u00e5nd.<\/p>\n<p>Utan mina inomhuspass tror jag verkligen inte att jag skulle ha klarat n\u00e5gra av de tuffare tiderna under Ciclos utveckling. Det blev tydligt att jag inte anv\u00e4nde dessa sessioner bara f\u00f6r att h\u00e5lla mina ben i god form eller f\u00f6r att beh\u00e5lla min FTP. Inom 10 minuter efter ridning uppt\u00e4ckte jag att mitt mentala tillst\u00e5nd skulle lugna sig, mina tankar skulle bli klarare och mitt fokus skulle sk\u00e4rpas.<\/p>\n<p>Jag b\u00f6rjade faktiskt rida f\u00f6r att jag beh\u00f6vde fatta utvecklingsbeslut eller f\u00f6r att hantera stress.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e4r jag sitter p\u00e5 cykeln har jag alltid vetat att mitt fokus \u00e4r skarpt. Mina tr\u00e4nare i min ungdom sa alltid att \u00f6kat blodfl\u00f6de till benen ocks\u00e5 f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttrar blodfl\u00f6det till hj\u00e4rnan, vilket hj\u00e4lper med fokus. Det \u00e4r otroligt anv\u00e4ndbart n\u00e4r du t\u00e4vlar i en peloton eller tr\u00e4nar det b\u00e4sta \u00f6gonblicket att bryta sig loss.<\/p>\n<p>Nu ser jag att fokus har en bieffekt: klarhet i tanken. Jag v\u00e4ver inte l\u00e4ngre genom en peloton eller undviker hjulet framf\u00f6r mig i 40 km\/h, jag st\u00e5r stilla i min studio. Och den stillheten ger mitt sinne utrymme att vandra med klarhet. Jag kan hantera problem i mitt liv. Stressen minskar, oron f\u00f6rsvinner, och ofta f\u00e5r jag mina b\u00e4sta id\u00e9er mitt under \u00e5kturen.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00e5 n\u00e4sta g\u00e5ng du hoppar p\u00e5 cykeln bara f\u00f6r att br\u00e4nna n\u00e5gra hundra kalorier eller flytta n\u00e5gra kilo, kom ih\u00e5g detta: \u00f6kat blodfl\u00f6de till benen f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttrar ocks\u00e5 blodfl\u00f6det till den gr\u00e5 substansen. Och det ger klarhet i tankarna, tar bort dimman och ger oss den d\u00e4r k\u00e4nslan av mental avkoppling som vi alla brukade njuta av innan den digitala tids\u00e5ldern tog \u00f6ver.<\/p>\n<p>Studier har ocks\u00e5 visat samband mellan \u00f6kad blodtillf\u00f6rsel till hj\u00e4rnan och minskad risk f\u00f6r Alzheimers och Parkinsons. Det \u00e4r f\u00f6rst\u00e5s fortfarande teoretiskt, men det kommer definitivt inte att skada oss att forts\u00e4tta cykla i hopp om att det ger ett h\u00e4lsosammare, lyckligare och mer produktivt mentalt tillst\u00e5nd &#8230; inte bara en h\u00f6gre FTP eller en mindre midja.<\/p>\n<p>F\u00f6r tillf\u00e4llet \u00e4lskar jag mina turer med Ciclo, av \u00e4nnu fler anledningar \u00e4n jag f\u00f6rst startade det h\u00e4r projektet.
