Jag menar, det var helt enkelt inte n\u00e5got jag utsattes f\u00f6r och definitivt inte n\u00e5got som bekymrade mig s\u00e4rskilt mycket&#8230; tills nyligen.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Under pandemin var det uppenbarligen en enorm p\u00e5frestning p\u00e5 m\u00e4nniskors mentala h\u00e4lsa och jag m\u00e5ste vara \u00e4rlig, f\u00f6r f\u00f6rsta g\u00e5ngen i mitt liv upplevde jag detta sj\u00e4lv. K\u00e4nslor av \u00e5ngest, frustration och en \u00f6verv\u00e4ldigande oro hindrade mig att sova och p\u00e5verkade min koncentration och inst\u00e4llning till \u00e4ven enkla vardagliga sysslor. Till och med veckobutiken orsakade mig problem.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Som den eviga konkurrenten har jag alltid sett ett problem, hittat orsaken och tr\u00e4nat p\u00e5 en l\u00f6sning. Det var precis vad jag b\u00f6rjade g\u00f6ra, f\u00f6r att uppt\u00e4cka varf\u00f6r jag led av den h\u00e4r nya k\u00e4nslan nu vid 50 \u00e5rs \u00e5lder&#8230; Jag menar att jag hade levt ett liv som innebar att \u00e4ga mina egna f\u00f6retag, uppfostra tv\u00e5 barn, \u00e4ktenskap och skilsm\u00e4ssa och \u00e4ven om dessa saker var p\u00e5frestande k\u00e4nde jag aldrig att de p\u00e5verkade mitt mentala tillst\u00e5nd eller min f\u00f6rm\u00e5ga att kontrollera eller hantera situationer. S\u00e5 n\u00e4r jag k\u00e4nde att dessa l\u00e5sningar inducerade \u00f6gonblick av \u00e5ngest, var min reaktion, som alltid, att s\u00e4tta mig p\u00e5 min cykel i min sm\u00e4rtgrotta och cykla.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Oavsett om det var fris\u00e4ttningen av endorfiner, eller den enkla tr\u00f6sten i att cykla, fann jag att det lindrades och lyfte molnet som s\u00e4nkte sig \u00f6ver min slutna v\u00e4rld och \u00e5tminstone till\u00e4t mig att fokusera p\u00e5 min dag framf\u00f6r mig.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Jag b\u00f6rjade \u00e4gna mer uppm\u00e4rksamhet \u00e5t hur mitt sinne agerade n\u00e4r jag b\u00f6rjade cykla. Var det musiken jag lyssnade p\u00e5 medan jag red, eller den \u00f6kade hj\u00e4rtfrekvensen som g\u00f6r att blodet kan fl\u00f6da l\u00e4ttare till min hj\u00e4rna, eller kanske det enkla faktum att jag var tvungen att vara s\u00e5 fokuserad p\u00e5 det fysiska arbetet jag gjorde, vilket inte till\u00e4t min hj\u00e4rna att engagera sig i \u00e5ngesten eller oron. Jag uppt\u00e4ckte att till och med f\u00f6rberedelserna f\u00f6r min cykeltur genom att ta p\u00e5 mig mina haklappsshorts, eller dra \u00e5t mina cykelklossar omedelbart b\u00f6rjade sl\u00e4ppa \u00e5ngesten och n\u00e4r jag cyklade var det uppenbart att mycket snabbt n\u00e4r den fysiska stressen \u00f6kade b\u00f6rjade den mentala stressen minska. Jag tyckte att ju mer teknisk \u00e5kturen var och ju mer jag koncentrerade mig p\u00e5 informationen om \u00e5kdata framf\u00f6r mig p\u00e5 min surfplatta, desto mer absorberad var jag i \u00e5kturen och desto mer borttagen fr\u00e5n min oro. Att f\u00f6rs\u00f6ka h\u00e5lla sig p\u00e5 r\u00e4tt kadens och r\u00e4tt intensitet och se till att jag koncentrerade mig p\u00e5 mina \u00e5terh\u00e4mtningsperioder bidrog till att t\u00f6mma min negativitet och f\u00f6rst\u00e4rka positiva tankar i mitt sinne. Det var f\u00f6rst\u00e5elsen f\u00f6r vetenskapen bakom min cykling som fokuserade mitt sinne mer p\u00e5 aktiviteten, vilket gav mig frig\u00f6relsen mentalt.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Min kunskap om muskelrekrytering och utveckling av energisystem f\u00f6r mig \u00e4r en sj\u00e4lvklarhet n\u00e4r jag cyklar, och det enkla faktum att jag alltid fick l\u00e4ra mig att det b\u00e4sta s\u00e4ttet att cykla \u00e4r i ett lugnt och avslappnat mentalt utrymme \u00e4ven i stunder av extrem fysisk stress visade sig nu vara en av de st\u00f6rsta f\u00f6rdelarna med min cykling.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Ja, jag fick ett bra fysiskt tr\u00e4ningspass men det h\u00e4r hj\u00e4lpte mig verkligen p\u00e5 ett mycket st\u00f6rre s\u00e4tt. Det var d\u00e5 jag ins\u00e5g att anledningen till att jag i flera \u00e5r aldrig hade lidit av livets \u00e5ngest och oro var f\u00f6r att jag alltid cyklat, som tills nu omedvetet hade agerat som en stor \u00e5terst\u00e4llningsknapp varje dag.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Nu cyklar jag inte bara f\u00f6r min kondition och jag cyklar inte bara f\u00f6r att f\u00f6rs\u00f6ka h\u00e5lla min kropp fr\u00e5n att se ut som en 50 \u00e5r gammal kropp, jag cyklar ocks\u00e5 f\u00f6r att jag kategoriskt vet att det hj\u00e4lper mitt mentala tillst\u00e5nd och s\u00e4kerligen placerar mig i en mycket b\u00e4ttre och mer fokuserad position f\u00f6r att koncentrera mig p\u00e5 de mycket viktiga sakerna som p\u00e5g\u00e5r i mitt liv just nu n\u00e4r jag bygger mitt nya f\u00f6retag.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">N\u00e4r jag f\u00f6rst startade mitt nya f\u00f6retag kastade jag mig in i processen till 100 %, 10 timmar om dagen 7 dagar i veckan och jag \u00e5kte inte i n\u00e4rheten av s\u00e5 mycket jag hade under st\u00f6rre delen av mitt liv. Jag inser nu att detta var ett misstag, och jag s\u00e4tter nu av tid f\u00f6r min cykel, varje dag.
