Efter att ha \u00e4gnat en vecka till inomhuscykling \u00f6ver p\u00e5sk och \u00e4tit choklad som min enda tr\u00e4ning, tog jag mig tillbaka till det idag med &#8217;The Slow Burner&#8217; med Mel!  Det h\u00e4r skulle kunna d\u00f6pas om till &#8221;L\u00e5ngsam &#8211; men lika sv\u00e5rt &#8211; br\u00e4nnare&#8221;!  N\u00e5got l\u00e5ngsammare beat f\u00f6r de som, som jag, k\u00e4mpar f\u00f6r att st\u00e5 p\u00e5 h\u00f6gre varv, men det g\u00f6r det inte riktigt l\u00e4ttare!  Tufft tufft och tuffare ju l\u00e4ngre klassen g\u00e5r!<span class=\"s1\">Back in the saddle!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>After taking a week out of indoor cycling over Easter and having eating chocolate as my only exercise, I brought myself back into it today with \u2018The Slow Burner\u2019 with Mel!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This could be retitled \u2018Slow &#8211; but equally as difficult &#8211; Burner\u2019!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Slightly slower beat for those who, like me, struggle to stand at the faster rpm but that doesn\u2019t really make it ANY easier!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Tough tough and tougher as the class goes on!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Jag k\u00e4nner fortfarande att mitt kn\u00e4 kan b\u00f6jas vid tillf\u00e4llen \u2013 s\u00e4rskilt n\u00e4r mina muskler \u00e4r tr\u00f6tta \u2013 s\u00e5 jag \u00e4r f\u00f6rsiktig. Jag vet att jag inte trycker mitt v\u00e4nstra ben lika h\u00e5rt som mitt h\u00f6gra heller, men jag f\u00f6rs\u00f6ker verkligen!<span class=\"s1\">I\u2019m still feeling like my knee may buckle on occasions \u2013 particularly when my muscles fatigue \u2013 so I&#8217;m being careful. I know I don\u2019t push my left leg as hard as my right either, but I\u2019m really trying to!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Jag lyckas f\u00e5 upp varvtalet och spurterna, n\u00e4r jag sitter, med ganska anst\u00e4ndigt motst\u00e5nd p\u00e5. Att bara ta min kroppsvikt i ett h\u00f6gt tempo \u00e4r fortfarande en utmaning f\u00f6r mig f\u00f6r tillf\u00e4llet: En del av det \u00e4r sinne \u00f6ver materia, men \u00e5r och \u00e5r av att st\u00e5 emot trycket f\u00f6r mycket p\u00e5 det benet m\u00e5ste finnas i mitt muskelminne!<span class=\"s1\">I\u2019m managing to get the RPMs up and the sprints, when seated, with fairly decent resistance on. Just taking my body weight at any great pace is still proving a challenge for me at the moment: Some of it is mind over matter, but years and years of resisting pressure too much on that leg must be in my muscle memory!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Cykeln jag anv\u00e4nder skulle kunna g\u00f6ra med n\u00e5gra fler inst\u00e4llningar f\u00f6r att \u00e4ndra den f\u00f6r att passa min storlek b\u00e4ttre (jag \u00e4r bara 5ft 4\u201d) \u2013 dvs styret verkar lite f\u00f6r l\u00e5ngt borta \u2013 men det g\u00e5r bra f\u00f6r mig f\u00f6r tillf\u00e4llet.<span class=\"s1\">The bike I\u2019m using could do with a few more settings to alter it to fit my size better (I\u2019m only 5ft 4\u201d) \u2013 ie the handle bars seem a little too far away \u2013 but it\u2019s doing ok for me for now.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Jag gillar hur l\u00e4tt det \u00e4r att vara hemma och hoppa p\u00e5 i 45 minuter mitt p\u00e5 dagen, logga in p\u00e5 CicloZone och v\u00e4lja min resa.  Bekv\u00e4mligheten med det sporrar mig definitivt n\u00e4r jag \u00e4r p\u00e5 lite &#8221;meh&#8221;-hum\u00f6r!<span class=\"s1\">I like the ease of it being at home and jumping on for 45 minutes in the middle of the day, logging into CicloZone and picking my ride.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The convenience of it most definitely spurs me on when I\u2019m in a bit of a \u2018meh\u2019 mood!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">N\u00e4r gymmen nu \u00f6ppnar igen kan det bli ett helt nytt bollspel om jag orkar boka ett pass och s\u00e4tta mig p\u00e5 en av Bluetooth-cyklarna d\u00e4r nere. Jag skulle kunna koppla upp mig och ta mitt eget FTP-test!  Jag \u00e4r inte s\u00e4ker p\u00e5 att jag \u00e4r S\u00c5 seri\u00f6s med det dock.  F\u00f6r mig handlar det om min \u00e5terh\u00e4mtning och min kondition; att h\u00e5lla fast vid det, h\u00e5lla fast vid min rutin, \u00e5terh\u00e4mta sig l\u00e5ngsamt och f\u00f6rsiktigt och se de d\u00e4r sm\u00e5 vinsterna p\u00e5 min fitbit kommer att g\u00f6ra mig f\u00f6r nu.<span class=\"s1\">With the gyms now reopening it might be a whole new ball game if I can be bothered to book a session and get onto one of the Bluetooth bikes down there. I could hook up and take my own FTP test!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>I\u2019m not sure I\u2019m THAT serious about it though.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>For me, it\u2019s about my recovery and my fitness; keeping at it, sticking with my routine, recovering slowly and carefully and seeing those tiny gains on my fitbit will do me for now.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tillbaka i sadeln!
