Wanneer de vermogensmetingen gerelateerd zijn aan het lichaamsgewicht, ook wel de vermogen-gewichtsverhouding genoemd, vertellen de statistieken een heel ander verhaal. Er werd een voorbeeld gegeven van twee renners met identieke FTP-statistieken. De ene rijder weegt aanzienlijk minder dan de andere. Als beide rijders dezelfde hoeveelheid kracht kunnen produceren en \u00e9\u00e9n rijder minder massa heeft om te verplaatsen, welke is dan sterker? Degene met het hogere watt per kilogram (W\/kg) is relatief gezien sterker. De rijder die meer rauwe watt pusht? Het hangt af van het terrein en de effecten van de zwaartekracht.<\/p>\n<p>Maar wacht. We zitten binnen, in het donker, op fietsen die nergens heen gaan. De enige heuvels in een fietsles zijn de heuvels die de instructeur ons uitnodigt om zich voor te stellen. Dus wat is de relevantie van het focussen op onze vermogen-gewichtsverhouding?<\/p>\n<p>W\/kg als gestandaardiseerde prestatiemeting<br \/>Het gebruik van W\/kg biedt een gestandaardiseerde maatstaf om rijders met verschillende lichaamssamenstellingen met elkaar te vergelijken. Ik noem het vaak de grote gelijkmaker, omdat het het machtsspeelveld gelijk maakt.<\/p>\n<p>Het zorgt ook voor een beter onderscheid tussen mannelijke en vrouwelijke atleten. Fysiologisch gezien hebben mannen meer droge spiermassa dan vrouwen. Meer spieren betekent het potentieel om meer algehele kracht te produceren. Mannen hebben ook grotere harten en longen, wat neerkomt op een effici\u00ebntere motor om zuurstof aan de werkende spieren te leveren.<\/p>\n<p>Uit onderzoek van de verzamelde gegevens over het maximale vermogen blijkt dat mannen de neiging hebben om 1,16 tot 1,21 keer meer vermogen W\/kg te produceren dan vrouwen tijdens maximale inspanningen van \u00e9\u00e9n uur. Naarmate de duur van de gebeurtenis afneemt, neemt het vermogensverschil toe.<\/p>\n<p>Weerstand, weerstand en zwaartekracht<br \/>Bij het buitenfietsen zijn er drie externe factoren die van invloed zijn op de prestaties. Rolweerstand, aerodynamica en zwaartekracht. Rolweerstand heeft betrekking op de bandenspanning en de ondergrond van het terrein waarop u rijdt. Een andere manier om aan rolweerstand te denken is wrijving, en van de drie factoren heeft dit doorgaans de minste invloed op de prestaties. De luchtweerstandsco\u00ebffici\u00ebnt (CdA) is het resultaat van de luchtweerstandsgrootte, vorm en oppervlaktetextuur van een lichaam. CdA is het meest relevant op een vlak parcours, maar is nog steeds een belangrijke kracht om op elk moment op de fiets mee te kampen. Op heuvels wordt het meeste werk tegen de zwaartekracht in gedaan en dan begint het gewicht van de rijder echt een rol te spelen.<\/p>\n<p>Om massa tegen de zwaartekracht in te versnellen of bergopwaarts te bewegen, is kracht nodig.<\/p>\n<p>Op terrein met veel hoogteverschil is uw vermogen-gewichtsoutput van belang. Bij cursussen die voornamelijk vlak zijn, is de verhouding tussen vermogen en gewicht minder belangrijk dan het absolute vermogen. Wanneer de verhouding tussen vermogen en gewicht identiek is, zal de rijder met het hoogste absolute vermogen sneller zijn.<\/p>\n<p>Uiteindelijk zijn er drie manieren om uw vermogen-gewichtsverhouding te be\u00efnvloeden:<\/p>\n<h2>1. Verhoog uw vermogen terwijl u uw gewicht constant houdt<\/h2>\n<h2>2. Houd uw krachtvermogen constant terwijl u uw gewicht verlaagt, of<\/h2>\n<p>3. Verhoog uw vermogen en verlaag tegelijkertijd uw gewicht.<\/p>\n<p>Kortom, w\/kg is een geldige en nuttige meting en u moet zich bewust zijn van wat dit betekent. Je zult de betekenis ervan echter pas echt begrijpen als je naar buiten gaat en op die rollen slaat.
