Daar gaat het voor ons wielrenners toch om? Train hard binnenshuis en je zult sneller op de weg zijn.<span class=\"s1\">Now that Spring is in full bloom (here in the UK), I have been enjoying my newfound indoor training power on the road. For us road cyclists, that&#8217;s what it&#8217;s about,\u00a0 isn&#8217;t it? Train hard indoors and you&#8217;ll be faster on the road.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">De afgelopen maanden heb ik meer tijd besteed aan het trainen op VO2 max (Zone 5), en het heeft zijn vruchten afgeworpen. Ik heb nieuw gevonden spieren in mijn benen die zijn omgezet in snelheid op de weg, vooral op de heuvels.<span class=\"s1\">Over the last few months, I have been spending more time training at VO2 max (Zone 5), and it has paid off. I have new-found muscle in my legs that has converted into speed on the road, especially on the hills.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Na een koude winter, beperkingen en een druk leven is indoor trainen een uitkomst geweest. Je hoeft niet eens een \u2018wielrenner\u2019 te zijn om van de gezondheidsvoordelen van indoor cycling te genieten. It&#8217;s always <\/span><span class=\"s1\">nice to feel like the hammer not the nail, and be the first one to the top of a climb. Since hitting the road and getting carried away with freedom and adventure, I am losing fitness\/de-training.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Waarom is dat?<span class=\"s1\">Why is that? <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Omdat mijn training niet gestructureerd is en zich laten meeslepen kan leiden tot overtraining. Ik zorg er nu voor dat ik twee intensieve indoorsessies per week doe om te blijven verbeteren, zodat ik in topvorm blijf voor die lange weekendritten met mijn vrienden.<span class=\"s1\">Because my training isn&#8217;t structured and getting carried away can lead to <\/span><span class=\"s1\">overtraining. I&#8217;m now ensuring I do two high-intensity indoor sessions a week to keep improving, so I stay in top form for those long weekend rides with my friends.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Het opnieuw verbinden met mijn reisgenoten is super positief geweest voor mijn welzijn, net als het gevoel van vooruitgang dat ik krijg door indoortraining. Ik besef dat ik beide in mijn leven nodig heb om op mijn best te zijn, en dat wil ik altijd zijn.<span class=\"s1\">Reconnecting with my road companions has been super positive for my wellbeing, as is the feeling of progression gained from indoor training. I realise that I need both in my life to be my best, which I always aspire to be.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Het leven draait om balans en vooruitgang.
