Ik heb twee baantjes (beide parttime en passen goed bij de kinderen). Ik sport NIET \u2013 ik denk graag dat een yogasessie van 20 minuten \u00e9\u00e9n keer per maand mij goed zou moeten doen en de grote hoeveelheden chocolade die ik eet om me elke dag door te komen zal verbranden \u2013 vooral tijdens de lockdown! Ik heb een sterke \u2018hey, we hebben weer een dag overleefd, laten we wat chocolade vieren!\u2019-mentaliteit.<span class=\"s1\">May I introduce myself \u2013 I\u2019m Sarah, a 40-year-old mum of two, a wife of one and I am your average run of the mill person. I have two jobs (both part time and fit in well around the children). I do NOT exercise \u2013 I like to think a 20 min yoga session once a month should see me right and will burn off the copious amounts of chocolate that I eat to help me get through each day \u2013 especially during lockdown! I\u2019ve been very much of the \u2018hey, we survived another day, lets have some chocolate to celebrate!\u2019 mentality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">En wat een verrassing\u2026..er gaat een steen in gewicht en ik voel me niet lekker! Urgh. Ouder zijn met een tragere stofwisseling is niet leuk.<span class=\"s1\">And what a surprise\u2026..on goes a stone in weight and I am not feeling good! Urgh. Being older with a slower metabolism is not fun.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Ik ben geobsedeerd door Instagram en tijdens de lockdown heb ik ZO veel mensen op dit sociale mediaplatform thuis zien trainen. Toen dacht ik: waarom kan ik dat niet ook zijn? Als ik de fiets koop, komt de wil om te sporten toch wel met zich mee, en valt er meteen een halve steen af?<span class=\"s1\">I am obsessed with Instagram, and over lockdown I have seen SO many people on this social media platform working out at home. Then I thought \u2013 why can\u2019t that be me too? Surely if I buy the bike, the will to exercise will come with it, and immediately half a stone will drop off?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Ik laat me heel gemakkelijk be\u00efnvloeden, ik heb veel verschillende di\u00ebten en bewegingsplannen geprobeerd, maar ik houd me er niet aan, want het leven staat me gewoon in de weg. Ik ben nooit echt dun geweest, en ik ben nooit echt dik geweest. Maar wat ik nu voel, is ongezond. Het is tijd om een \u200b\u200bbewuste verandering door te voeren, een goed voorbeeld te geven aan mijn kinderen en eraan te werken mijn zomerkleding aan te trekken zodra de warmere dagen aanbreken.<span class=\"s1\">I\u2019m influenced very easily, I have tried many different diets and exercise plans, none of which I stick to because, well, life just gets in the way. I\u2019ve never been really thin, and I\u2019ve never been really fat. But what I do feel now, is unhealthy. It\u2019s time to make a conscious change, set a good example to my children and work on getting into my summer clothes once the warmer days come.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Dus benaderde CicloZone mij&#8230; en wat ben ik blij dat ze dat deden! Ik had verantwoordelijkheid nodig\u2026. Ik had iemand nodig aan wie ik verslag kon uitbrengen \u2013 want ik ben niet goed in het verslag uitbrengen aan mezelf!<span class=\"s1\">So CicloZone approached me\u2026.. and boy am I glad they did! I needed accountability\u2026. I needed someone to report back to \u2013 because I am not good at reporting back to myself!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Dit is voor mij de perfecte kans om dit op orde te krijgen, fitter te worden, gezonder te worden en me goed te voelen!<span class=\"s1\">This is the perfect opportunity for me to sort this out, get fitter, get healthier and feel good! <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Dus hoe gaat het tot nu toe? Ok\u00e9, ik zal eerlijk zijn. Ik zei dat ik in maart drie lessen per week zou doen. De eerste week verzon ik wat excuses en slaagde erin ongeveer 20 minuten te blijven. Hoe belachelijk is dat? Ik kon gewoon niet in de \u2018Zone\u2019 komen (woordspeling bedoeld). Heeft iemand anders dit gevoel? Kun je jezelf er gewoon niet toe brengen om aan de slag te gaan? Het is gek, want je weet dat als je dat doet, je je absoluut geweldig zult voelen! MAAR HET GAAT GAAN!<span class=\"s1\">So how is it going so far? Okay, I\u2019ll be honest. I said I would do three classes a week in March. The first week, I made some excuses and managed about 20 minutes. How ridiculous is that? I just couldn\u2019t get into the \u2018Zone\u2019 (pun intended). Anyone else feel like this? You just can\u2019t bring yourself to get going? It\u2019s crazy, because you know when you do, you will feel absolutely amazing! BUT IT\u2019S THE GETTING GOING!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Mag ik je nu vertellen \u2013 aan alle beginners \u2013 dat dit niet het geval is! Je gaat op zoek naar een klasse met een lage COL% voor jou (lage 70% is goed) en gaat in je eigen tempo. Het is geen wedstrijd, niemand beoordeelt je, je hoeft je niet te laten afschrikken. Zoals Mel Thomas zegt: raak de goede plek en je zult het gevoel hebben dat je je doel kunt bereiken.<span class=\"s1\">Fast forward to this week and I am in LOVE with CicloZone! I got over whatever invisible barrier that was holding me back (also the fact that my husband kept saying \u2018If you don\u2019t get on that bike, we are selling it\u2019) I think I was worried I wouldn\u2019t be able to do it. In my head, I believed that the classes would be too much \u2013 I mean, look at the trainers \u2013 they are all so athletically fit, I can\u2019t keep up with them surely?! Maybe I was just a bit daunted. (And lazy, come to think of it.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">En dat doe ik nu! Ik heb het gevoel dat ik me met deze lessen en de aanmoediging die de trainers geven beter, gezonder en fitter kan voelen.<span class=\"s1\">Can I tell you now \u2013 to all the beginners \u2013 this is not the case! You go find a low COL% class for you (Low 70% ones are good) and go at your own pace. It\u2019s not a competition, no one is judging you, you don\u2019t need to be daunted. As Mel Thomas says \u2013 hit the sweet spot and you will feel like you can achieve your goal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Ok\u00e9 \u2013 ik weet dat ik nog maar twee weken bezig ben, maar ik drijf nog steeds op de serotonine van de les van gisteren! Ik wil er later vandaag of morgen nog eentje in stoppen, en dat, mijn vrienden, zal mijn derde les van de week zijn. Het doel dat ik mezelf had gesteld; drie lessen per week. Gemakkelijk haalbaar voor iemand die niet fit is, van middelbare leeftijd, vermoeid is en het erg druk heeft. Hoe vaak hebben we niet gehoord \u2018Als ik het kan, kun jij het ook!\u2019 Klinkt zooooo oubollig maar waar! Als ik een minder cheesy lijn bedenk, laat ik het je weten!<span class=\"s1\">And I do now! I feel that that with these classes and the encouragement that the trainers give, I can feel better, and I can feel healthier, and I can feel fitter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Okay \u2013 I know I\u2019m only two weeks in, but I\u2019m still floating on the serotonin of yesterday\u2019s class! I want to squeeze another one in later today or if not tomorrow, and that, my friends, will be my third class of the week. The goal I had set myself; three classes a week. Easily achievable for an unfit, middle aged, tired and very busy person. How many times have we heard \u2018If I can do it, you can!\u2019 Sounds soooooo corny but true!
