Mijn vrienden noemen mij gewoon Tony. Ik ben een zelfstandige decorateur van meer dan dertig jaar en 1,80 meter lang, net als mijn vader. Het weerhoudt mij er niet van om iets te doen, behalve politieagent te zijn, denk ik\u2026!<span class=\"s1\">Hi there, m<\/span><span class=\"s1\">y name is Anthony Robinson. My friends just call me Tony. I am a self employed decorator of thirty plus years and 5 feet 4 inches tall, same as my dad. It doesn\u2019t stop me from doing anything, apart from being a policeman, I suppose\u2026!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Ik begon rond mijn 18e met fitnesstraining na een vlotte opmerking van een vriend over mijn gewicht. Het werkte en ik begon te eten en te trainen om fitter te worden. Ik verloor een stuk gewicht en dacht \u2018nou, ben ik niet fit\u2019?!<span class=\"s1\">I started fitness training around the age of 18 after a glib comment about my weight from a friend. It worked and I began eating and training to get fitter. I lost a chunk of weight and thought \u2018well aren\u2019t I fit\u2019?!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Rond mijn 23e begon ik met karate \u2013 nu ik fit ben \u2013 en ik vond het geweldig, ik stopte pas toen ik een jaar in Canada ging wonen en toen ik een jaar later thuiskwam, was ik nog steeds een beetje aan het hardlopen, maar viel ik ook tijdens het wandelen \u2013 nog een van mijn favoriete bezigheden, zoals je op de foto kunt zien. Ik heb tot nu toe 149 Wainwrights voltooid.<span class=\"s1\">At around 23, I took up Karate &#8211; now that IS fit &#8211; and I loved it, didn\u2019t stop until I went to live in Canada for a year and then, back home a year later,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I was still running a bit but also fell walking &#8211; another of my favourite activities, as you\u2019ll see from the photo. I\u2019ve completed 149 Wainwrights so far.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Naast het vallen wandelen, begon ik circuittraining met een stel judojongens die ik ontmoette \u2013 niet mijn sport, judo \u2013 een hele zware, maar niet voor mij. Maar ik hield van circuits en stopte alleen vanwege COVID-19.<span class=\"s1\">Alongside the fell walking, I started circuit training with a bunch of Judo guys I met &#8211; not my sport, Judo &#8211; a real tough one but not for me. But I loved circuits and only stopped because of COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In the saddle<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">In het zadel<br \/>\nHoe dan ook, ongeveer 4 jaar geleden ben ik begonnen met fietsen.  Ik had iets met een lage impact nodig, omdat de tijd niet vriendelijk is en sinds mijn veertigste het moeilijker is om gewicht te verplaatsen. Ik vond het erg leuk. In feite is er, naast het zijn op de heuvels, geen beter gevoel dan op de fiets jezelf uit te dagen.<span class=\"s1\">Anyway, about 4 years ago I started cycling.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I needed something low impact because time isn\u2019t kind and, since my 40s, weight is harder to shift. I really liked it. In fact, next to being on the fells there is no better feeling than being on your bike challenging yourself. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Ik heb verschillende uitdagingen van 100 mijl gedaan: de Coast to Coast op een dag en Le Jog (926 mijl in 12 dagen). Hoe dan ook, omdat ik astmatisch ben, heb ik soms moeite als ik de balans niet goed krijg.<span class=\"s1\">I have done various 100 mile challenges &#8211; the Coast to Coast in a day and Le Jog (926 miles in 12 days). Anyway, with being asthmatic I do sometimes struggle if I don\u2019t get the balance correct.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Toen de meest recente lockdown werd aangekondigd, besloot ik te proberen bezig te blijven en omdat het werk voor het eerst ooit was opgedroogd, besloot ik fit te blijven.<span class=\"s1\">When the most recent lockdown was announced, I decided to try and stay busy and, because work had dried up for the first time ever, I decided to keep fit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Ik was rond deze tijd op zoek naar een nieuwe spinbike en beperkte deze tot drie fietsen, waarbij ik uiteindelijk voor de Keizer M3i koos. Tijdens mijn eerste rit erop vroeg ik me af wat ik had gedaan, maar ik heb de Keizer-app gedownload en, samen met de Spinnervals-dvd&#8217;s, ging het goed met me \u2013 sterker nog, ik begon zelfs te genieten van de M3i.<span class=\"s1\">I was looking for a new spin bike around this time and narrowed it down to three bikes, ultimately choosing the Keiser M3i. My first ride on it left me wondering what I\u2019d done but I downloaded the Keiser app and, along with the Spinnervals DVDs,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I was doing ok &#8211; in fact I even started enjoying the M3i. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Rond deze tijd werd ik op Facebook lid van de M3 i-gebruikersgroep en kreeg ik veel goede tips. Hier kwam ik Darren Lee tegen. Hij had me een vriendschapsverzoek gestuurd en we wisselden een paar woorden. Kort daarna vertelde hij dat hij aan deze nieuwe app, CicloZone, werkte.<span class=\"s1\">At about this time on Facebook, I joined the M3 i users group and picked up lots of great tips. This is where I came across Darren Lee. He\u2019d sent me a friend request and we exchanged a few words. Shortly after, he mentioned he was working on this new app, CicloZone.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Vanaf dat moment begon ik de app te gebruiken en vond het goed \u2013 ik heb ervan genoten! Er is volop keuze voor een gestructureerde workout, wat ook erg helpt bij het buitenfietsen. Toen kwam de gamechanger\u2026 hij introduceerde FTP op het platform!<span class=\"s1\">From there I started using the app and thought it was good &#8211; I enjoyed it! There\u2019s plenty of choice for a structured workout, which really helps with outdoor cycling too. Then came the game changer\u2026 he introduced FTP to the platform!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">37 rides in 37 days<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\">37 ritten in 37 dagen<br \/>\nIk deed tegen die tijd behoorlijk wat CicloZone-trainingen, soms twee of meer tegelijk, maar na FTP stond dat op het punt te veranderen.<span class=\"s1\">I was doing quite a lot of CicloZone workouts by this time, sometimes two or more at a time but, post FTP, that was about to change. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Op 30 december verhoogde ik mijn FTP naar 140 en vier of vijf ritten in het nieuwe jaar besloot ik mezelf uit te dagen door elke dag een CicloZone-rit te maken.  Dat deed ik dus \u2013 van de laatste twee dagen van december tot en met 4 februari reed ik elke dag met CicloZone, totdat ik besefte dat ik achteruit begon te gaan omdat ik niet genoeg rustdagen nam.<span class=\"s1\">On 30 December, I increased my FTP to 140 and four or five rides into the New Year, I decided I\u2019d challenge myself by taking a CicloZone ride every day.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>So I did &#8211; from the last two days in December until 4 February, I rode with CicloZone every day, until I realised I was beginning to go backwards because I wasn\u2019t taking enough rest days. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Desondanks steeg mijn FTP naar 182, wat geweldig is!<span class=\"s1\">Despite this, my FTP increased to 182, which is amazing!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Ik had er daarna een tijdje moeite mee, omdat ik niet genoeg rustte, zoals ik me realiseerde, maar nadat ik met Darren had gesproken, heb ik mijn FTP verlaagd naar 174 en onlangs, op mijn 60e verjaardag, heb ik zelfs drie CicloZone-lessen achter elkaar gevolgd!<span class=\"s1\">I did struggle for a while afterwards, due to not resting enough as I\u2019d realised, but after talking to Darren, I dropped my FTP to 174 and recently, on my 60th birthday, I actually took three CicloZone classes one after the other! <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">De app is heel slim gestructureerd, niet alleen voor geweldige fietsers, maar ook voor de gemiddelde man in de straat, zoals ik.<span class=\"s1\">The app is very cleverly structured, not just for great cyclists but for the average guy in the street, like me. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Ongeacht uw conditie bij de start, het zal uw uithoudingsvermogen, uw kracht en uw geest verbeteren!<span class=\"s1\">No matter your level of fitness at the start, it will improve your stamina and your strength, as well as your mind! <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Het beste is dat Darren, hoewel hij het druk heeft, altijd beschikbaar is om u advies te geven. Respect!<span class=\"s1\">The best thing is, although Darren is a busy man, he is always available to give you advice. Respect! <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Dus, wat is het volgende? Blijf verbeteren en ga de weg op om de vruchten te plukken. CicloZone heeft mij een echte fitnessboost gegeven en evolueert voortdurend. Ik ben van plan om mee te evolueren!!<span class=\"s1\">So, what\u2019s next? Keep improving and get out on the roads to reap the rewards. CicloZone has given me a real fitness boost and is constantly evolving.
