Meer bewegen helpt bovendien je middelomvang te verkleinen, je bloeddruk te verlagen, je humeur te verbeteren, stress beter te beheersen en beter te slapen.<\/p>\n<p>Op deze Wereld Diabetes Dag kijken we hoe beweging kan helpen in de strijd tegen deze aandoening, die ongeveer 4,8 miljoen mensen in het Verenigd Koninkrijk treft.<\/p>\n<p>Hoe word je actief?<\/p>\n<p>Diabetes UK raadt aan om vijf dagen per week 30 minuten aan matige inspanning te doen of vijf dagen per week 15 minuten aan intensieve inspanning.<\/p>\n<p>Matige inspanning omvat stevig wandelen, fietsen op vlak terrein, zwemmen of een rustige online beweegles. Tijdens deze sessies gaat je ademhaling omhoog, maar kun je nog steeds praten.<\/p>\n<p>Intensieve inspanning omvat snel of bergop fietsen, snel zwemmen, hardlopen of HIIT-workouts.
