{"id":8250,"date":"2023-03-13T10:02:48","date_gmt":"2023-03-13T10:02:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ciclozone.com\/blog\/why-ride-a-bike\/"},"modified":"2026-04-13T13:59:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T12:59:07","slug":"why-ride-a-bike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ciclozone.com\/nl\/blog\/why-ride-a-bike\/","title":{"rendered":"Waarom fietsen?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ik fiets mijn hele leven al: eliterenner, recreatieve fietser, mountainbiker, indoor cyclist en zelfs spinner \u2013 ik heb het allemaal gedaan.<\/p>\n<p>In het begin was fietsen gewoon iets wat ik graag deed. Het was mijn ding, mijn sport, mijn uitlaatklep. Naarmate ik ouder werd en me ging verdiepen in de wereld van fietstraining, besefte ik dat wat ik mijn hele leven had gedaan, eigenlijk het beste was wat ik voor mijn lichaam kon doen.<\/p>\n<p>Dat heeft me op het pad van de fietseducatie gezet: mensen zo vroeg mogelijk leren hoe goed fietsen voor je lichaam is, en zoveel mogelijk mensen op een fiets krijgen zodat ze precies begrijpen wat er fysiologisch \u00e9n psychologisch gebeurt wanneer je rijdt.<\/p>\n<p>hoe je lichaam reageert op inspanning<\/p>\n<p>Vanuit fysiologisch oogpunt produceert je lichaam voor iedere activiteit vermogen, gemeten in watt. Dit vermogen komt uit een of meer van je drie energiesystemen. Je aerobe systeem is je energiesysteem voor inspanningen bij lage intensiteit en produceert vermogen met behulp van zuurstof. Je lactaatsysteem komt in werking zodra de intensiteit toeneemt en je meer spiermassa begint te gebruiken, waarbij glycogeen dat in de spieren is opgeslagen wordt omgezet in energie en vermogen. Wanneer je de drempel van je lactaatsysteem bereikt en overschrijdt tijdens zeer intensieve activiteit, begin je vermogen anaeroob te produceren, via een chemische reactie in je fosfaatsysteem.<\/p>\n<p>De intensiteit van je activiteit en de manier waarop je lichaam zijn energiesystemen aanspreekt, bepalen de resultaten die je uit die activiteit haalt. Maar \u00e9\u00e9n ding staat vast: we hebben alle drie de energiesystemen gezond en krachtig nodig om een compleet, gezond en krachtig mens te zijn.<\/p>\n<p>Slechts weinig activiteiten stellen je in staat al deze energiesystemen aan te spreken met de intensiteit die nodig is om resultaat te behalen, vooral omdat er elke dag \u00e9\u00e9n kracht op ons inwerkt: de zwaartekracht.<\/p>\n<p>Dit betekent dat iedere activiteit die tegen de zwaartekracht in gaat, schuifkrachten uitoefent op ligamenten en pezen terwijl de spieren actief zijn \u2013 of het nu hardlopen, springen of gewichtheffen is. De zwaartekracht legt die activiteiten van nature beperkingen op, en op de lange termijn worden de negatieve gevolgen van die schuifkrachten voelbaar in gewrichten en ligamenten.<\/p>\n<p>Elke activiteit die \u00e9cht functioneel en heilzaam voor het menselijk lichaam wil zijn, moet hoge intensiteit mogelijk maken en tegelijk de negatieve effecten van deze schuifkrachten beperken.<\/p>\n<p>Waarom fietsen?<\/p>\n<p>We weten allemaal dat zwemmen algemeen wordt beschouwd als de beste oefening voor het menselijk lichaam: het opwaartse effect van het water neutraliseert de zwaartekracht, waardoor spieren, ligamenten en gewrichten vrij en onafhankelijk van die kracht kunnen bewegen.<\/p>\n<p>Fietsen kan op dezelfde manier worden geclassificeerd, omdat je lange tijd op de fiets zit met je voeten vast in de pedalen. Je bevindt je daardoor in een situatie waarin de zwaartekracht weliswaar op je massa inwerkt, maar niet rechtstreeks op je lichaam.<\/p>\n<p>Zo kun je relatief vrij bewegen zonder de beperkingen van de zwaartekracht, waardoor de schuifkrachten afnemen.<\/p>\n<p>Dankzij de vooruitgang op het gebied van vermogensmeters en technologie hebben we bovendien het bijkomende voordeel dat we het vermogen dat we tijdens het fietsen produceren kunnen berekenen en opvolgen.<\/p>\n<p>Met de kennis over hoe je cadans en intensiteit inzet om de drie belangrijkste energiesystemen te activeren, en over hoe je de drempel van je lactaatsysteem in termen van vermogen bepaalt, ontdekte ik dat ik de training van elk individu kon optimaliseren om het basisdoel van de meeste sporters te bereiken: gewichtsverlies en meer mobiliteit via een toename van het vermogen.<\/p>\n<p>De ontwikkeling van CicloZone<\/p>\n<p>Met het CicloZone-platform wilde ik het plezier en de euforie van een goede groepsles op de fiets behouden, maar er een eenvoudig trainingsdata- en connectiviteitssysteem aan koppelen, zoals eliterenners dat gebruiken.<\/p>\n<p>CicloZone is een echt crossoverplatform.
