En approfondissant votre compr\u00e9hension des mesures de puissance dans le cyclisme, vous serez en mesure de r\u00e9aliser des adaptations positives significatives. Voici quelques bases :<\/p>\n<p>Que sont les watts ?<br \/>Lorsque nous faisons du v\u00e9lo, nous g\u00e9n\u00e9rons de la puissance en watts (W) gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 \u00ab Force (f) x Vitesse (v) \u00bb. En cyclisme en salle, vous entendrez les entra\u00eeneurs parler de vitesse et de cadence (RPM). Ces deux facteurs ont un impact sur votre puissance de sortie (W). Augmenter ou diminuer l&rsquo;un de ces \u00e9l\u00e9ments augmentera ou diminuera vos watts.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;entra\u00eenement avec des watts vous donne un retour imm\u00e9diat et quantifiable sur l&rsquo;intensit\u00e9 de votre entra\u00eenement. Une grande analogie serait de penser \u00e0 une ampoule. Une ampoule de 60 W \u00e9met moins de lumi\u00e8re qu\u2019une ampoule de 100 W. Plus de watts signifie plus de puissance.<\/p>\n<p>Pourquoi s&rsquo;entra\u00eener avec puissance ?<br \/>Se concentrer sur la puissance de sortie vous aidera \u00e0 rester sur la bonne voie et motiv\u00e9 pour maintenir votre charge de travail cible pendant les efforts intenses. Ce type d\u2019entra\u00eenement d\u00e9veloppera votre endurance, augmentera votre vitesse, vous rendra plus fort et, globalement, am\u00e9liorera vos performances physiques.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019attention port\u00e9e au pouvoir peut \u00e9galement vous aider \u00e0 rythmer vos efforts. Au lieu de rouler trop fort et d&rsquo;aller trop loin, vous pouvez surveiller vos watts pour rester dans votre zone cible. L\u2019entra\u00eenement de puissance signifie travailler avec des objectifs pr\u00e9cis \u2013 si vous pouvez les mesurer, vous pouvez les modifier.<\/p>\n<p>La puissance brute de sortie signifie tr\u00e8s peu en termes de performances. Cependant, par rapport au poids corporel, les lectures de puissance ont une grande valeur. Consid\u00e9rons deux coureurs qui poussent tous deux 280 W dans un test FTP \u2013 un coureur p\u00e8se 160 livres et l&rsquo;autre 200 livres. Plus le rapport watts\/poids est \u00e9lev\u00e9, plus le cycliste est fort.  Alors arr\u00eatez de comparer, tout est relatif. Pour vous entra\u00eener correctement avec des watts et un wattm\u00e8tre, vous devez d&rsquo;abord comprendre le concept de FTP.<\/p>\n<p>Puissance de seuil fonctionnel (FTP)<br \/>Les niveaux d\u2019entra\u00eenement sont d\u00e9termin\u00e9s par rapport \u00e0 ce que l\u2019on appelle votre \u00ab seuil de puissance fonctionnel \u00bb. FTP est d\u00e9fini comme la puissance la plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e qu&rsquo;un cycliste peut maintenir dans un \u00e9tat quasi stable pendant environ une heure sans se fatiguer. Ceci est parfois appel\u00e9 puissance au \u00ab seuil lactate \u00bb (LT) ou m\u00eame simplement \u00ab seuil \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Lorsque la puissance d\u00e9passe FTP, la fatigue surviendra beaucoup plus t\u00f4t, alors que les efforts juste en dessous de FTP peuvent \u00eatre maintenus beaucoup plus longtemps. Bien que FTP ne soit pas la m\u00eame chose que LT, les deux sont des proxys proches et vous vous sentirez mal \u00e0 l&rsquo;aise en vous entra\u00eenant aux deux niveaux.<\/p>\n<p>Les niveaux d\u2019entra\u00eenement en puissance utilisent le FTP d\u2019un coureur comme r\u00e9f\u00e9rence et les efforts seront repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s par une plage de pourcentage par rapport au FTP. L&rsquo;entra\u00eenement au-dessus et au-dessous de FTP est tr\u00e8s avantageux, en fonction de l&rsquo;adaptation physiologique que vous essayez d&rsquo;atteindre.<\/p>\n<p>Seuil lactate (LT)<br \/>Le lactate est un produit m\u00e9tabolique de la production d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie ana\u00e9robie. Nous avons tous des moments au cours de la journ\u00e9e o\u00f9 notre corps a besoin de plus d\u2019\u00e9nergie ou plus rapidement que ce que le syst\u00e8me a\u00e9robie peut fournir. Normalement, ces pouss\u00e9es d\u2019\u00e9nergie ana\u00e9robie ne sont ni consid\u00e9rables ni soutenues, de sorte que le corps est capable d\u2019utiliser le lactate comme source de carburant alternative ou de l\u2019\u00e9liminer. Cependant, lors d\u2019un exercice intense, la production de lactate est plusieurs fois sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 celle des niveaux de repos.<\/p>\n<p>LT est le point o\u00f9 le corps ne peut pas \u00e9liminer le lactate aussi rapidement qu&rsquo;il est produit par les muscles qui travaillent dur. Un entra\u00eenement sp\u00e9cifique avec watts et LT peut augmenter votre seuil de performance. De plus, un exercice d\u2019endurance constant et \u00e0 long terme r\u00e9duira la production de lactate en ralentissant le taux global d\u2019utilisation des glucides. Plus le seuil est \u00e9lev\u00e9, meilleurs sont les effets potentiels de l&rsquo;entra\u00eenement lorsque l&rsquo;on travaille avec des watts.<\/p>\n<p>En comprenant les concepts de watts et de seuils, vous serez mieux pr\u00e9par\u00e9 \u00e0 conserver ces puissances plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es pendant des p\u00e9riodes de temps pr\u00e9d\u00e9termin\u00e9es.
