Al profundizar su comprensi\u00f3n de las m\u00e9tricas de potencia en el ciclismo, podr\u00e1 lograr importantes adaptaciones positivas. Aqu\u00ed hay algunos conceptos b\u00e1sicos:<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfQu\u00e9 son los vatios?<br \/>Al andar en bicicleta, generamos energ\u00eda en vatios (W) a trav\u00e9s de \u201cFuerza (f) x Velocidad (v)\u201d. En el ciclismo indoor, escuchar\u00e1s a los entrenadores referirse a esto como marcha y cadencia (RPM). Estos dos factores afectan su potencia de salida (W). Aumentar o disminuir uno de estos elementos aumentar\u00e1 o disminuir\u00e1 sus vatios.<\/p>\n<p>Entrenar con Watts te brinda informaci\u00f3n inmediata y cuantificable sobre la intensidad de tu entrenamiento. Una gran analog\u00eda es pensar en una bombilla. Una bombilla de 60W emite menos luz que una de 100W. M\u00e1s vatios significa m\u00e1s potencia.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 entrenar con potencia?<br \/>Centrarse en la producci\u00f3n de potencia le ayudar\u00e1 a mantenerse encaminado y motivado para mantener su carga de trabajo objetivo durante los esfuerzos arduos. Este tipo de entrenamiento desarrollar\u00e1 tu resistencia, aumentar\u00e1 tu velocidad, te har\u00e1 m\u00e1s fuerte y, en general, mejorar\u00e1 tu rendimiento f\u00edsico.<\/p>\n<p>La atenci\u00f3n al poder tambi\u00e9n puede ayudarle a controlar el ritmo de sus esfuerzos. En lugar de montar demasiado duro y esforzarse demasiado, puede controlar sus vatios para mantenerse dentro de su zona objetivo. El entrenamiento de potencia significa trabajar con objetivos precisos: si puedes medirlos, puedes cambiarlos.<\/p>\n<p>La potencia bruta significa muy poco cuando se trata de rendimiento. Sin embargo, en relaci\u00f3n con el peso corporal, las lecturas de potencia son de gran valor. Considere dos ciclistas que potencian 280 W en una prueba FTP: un ciclista pesa 160 libras y el otro 200 libras. Cuanto mayor sea la relaci\u00f3n entre vatios y peso, m\u00e1s fuerte ser\u00e1 el ciclista.  As\u00ed que deja de comparar: todo es relativo. Para entrenar correctamente con vatios y un medidor de potencia, primero debes entender el concepto de FTP.<\/p>\n<p>Potencia umbral funcional (FTP)<br \/>Los niveles de entrenamiento se determinan en relaci\u00f3n con lo que se conoce como su \u00abumbral de potencia funcional\u00bb. FTP se define como la potencia m\u00e1s alta que un ciclista puede mantener en un estado casi estable durante aproximadamente una hora sin fatigarse. En ocasiones, esto se denomina potencia en el \u201cumbral de lactato\u201d (LT) o incluso simplemente \u201cumbral\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Cuando la potencia excede el FTP, la fatiga se producir\u00e1 mucho antes, mientras que los esfuerzos justo por debajo del FTP se pueden mantener por mucho m\u00e1s tiempo. Si bien FTP no es lo mismo que LT, los dos son sustitutos cercanos y te sentir\u00e1s inc\u00f3modo entrenando en ambos niveles.<\/p>\n<p>Los niveles de entrenamiento de potencia utilizan el FTP de un ciclista como punto de referencia y los esfuerzos estar\u00e1n representados por un rango porcentual relativo al FTP. Entrenar tanto por encima como por debajo del FTP es muy ventajoso, dependiendo de la adaptaci\u00f3n fisiol\u00f3gica que intentes conseguir.<\/p>\n<p>Umbral de lactato (LT)<br \/>El lactato es un producto metab\u00f3lico de la producci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda anaer\u00f3bica. Todos tenemos momentos a lo largo del d\u00eda en los que nuestro cuerpo requiere m\u00e1s energ\u00eda o m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido de lo que el sistema aer\u00f3bico puede proporcionar. Normalmente estos chorros de energ\u00eda anaer\u00f3bica no son considerables ni sostenidos, por lo que el cuerpo es capaz de utilizar el lactato como fuente alternativa de combustible o eliminarlo. Sin embargo, durante el ejercicio intenso, la producci\u00f3n de lactato es muchas veces mayor que la de los niveles en reposo.<\/p>\n<p>LT es el punto donde el cuerpo no puede eliminar el lactato tan r\u00e1pido como lo producen los m\u00fasculos que trabajan duro. El entrenamiento espec\u00edfico con vatios y LT puede aumentar tu umbral de rendimiento. Adem\u00e1s, el ejercicio de resistencia constante y prolongado reducir\u00e1 la producci\u00f3n de lactato al disminuir la tasa general de utilizaci\u00f3n de carbohidratos. Cuanto mayor sea el umbral, mejores ser\u00e1n los posibles efectos del entrenamiento cuando se trabaja con vatios.<\/p>\n<p>Al comprender los conceptos de vatios y umbrales, estar\u00e1 mejor preparado para mantener esas cifras de potencia m\u00e1s altas durante per\u00edodos de tiempo predeterminados. Conducir en LT durante un per\u00edodo prolongado es un desaf\u00edo, as\u00ed que conduzca siempre con inteligencia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El panorama actual del
